Biografie
Prof. Dr. Isabell M. Welpe is a professor and head of the Strategy and Organization research group and cofounder of the TUM Blockchain Center at the Technical University of Munich, Germany. In her current projects, Prof. Dr. Isabell M. Welpe focuses on the digital transformation of companies, the impact of Blockchain on the economy and organizations and the future of the financial and investment industry. She has published studies on, e.g. „Disrupting Industries with Blockchain“ „Digital Business Models“, „Social Media as Information Markets“.
She has repeatedly spoken at the Digital Life Design (DLD) conference and has been listed among the Top 40 under 40 of the „digital elite“ by the magazine Capital and one of the “leading 40 thinkers”. Her current interests are in the potential of emerging technologies, such as distributed ledger & blockchain technology for novel value chains, business models and organizational forms. Isabell M. Welpe studied management at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, Germany and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA. IShe also holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and is a research fellow at the Centre for Blockchain Technologies at the University College London. Her research is covered in the media, such as the Harvard Business Manager, MIT Sloan Management Review.
